The Rest of Scottish Football Thread 2022/23

This topic is to discuss the rest of Scottish football and what is happening elsewhere. Some of the decisions elsewhere could and probably will have an affect on us, so it always interesting to keep up with other things happening elsewhere.

I know some of you will probably retort with the usual stuff like "I'm not interested or what's this got to do with Dundee?" posts, feel free to keep those posts to yourself then, cheers!

VAR coming in, great for game I think, depends on who they put in front of the screens, will we be playing catch up next season with it, will it cost us more than initial cost for clubs

Hibs have agreed terms with Lee Johnson. So it looks like a return to Easter Road for Jack Ross is out of the window.

Other clubs without a manager are Raith Rovers, Edinburgh City, Hibernian (vacancy nearly filled) and Us.

Good point. I find it strange that this will be introduced only in the Premiership first and halfway through a season? Doesn't make sense to start halfway through the season.

I'm not sure if this cost will be placed on non premiership clubs.

Some people are going to love or hate Var and it is going to cause a lot of controversy in the run up to the league title or relegation.

True, but this thread is about Scottish football remember, you can't use that and sense in the same paragraph never mind sentence.

Good news that Hibs have gone south for their next manager. I never thought Jack Ross would go back to them but I guess this confirms it and maybe makes us favourites if he decides to stay in Scotland.

Unless you really believe that there is systematic decision changing or ignoring (or in other words corruption) by referees during games, then it seems likely that all teams will be affected in a similar way with VAR. The arse cheeks are likely to still get the majority of decisions in their favour because it is the same people making those decisions. If we had a truly independent VAR decision making body, things might be different.

That said, I can't wait for VAR to be introduced. The entertainment value alone will be brilliant.

Yeah, why I am even surprised at this news, especially when you realise who is running things. Piss up in a brewery springs to mind.

I'll be honest, Jack Ross isn't signing for us and I have moved past this. Someone else mention that Ross is still on Hibs payroll and that's the reason he hasn't signed yet.

I will say this, I suspect that if Ross was interested in signing, there would be ways around this issue and he would have done on Monday. I also suspect if this was the case, he probably has changed his mind again as he is looking for a job elsewhere, probably England.

The first time that either Celtic or Rangers are awarded a penalty of a goal is chopped of due to VAR, then both sides of the same arse cheeks will go to war with each other on social media claiming they are the most hard done by in Scottish Football! Fun times!

The SFA are a Shower of Shite and No amount of Bleach can convince Me otherwise.

The SPFL are Spineless, Clueless and so far up the OF arse cheeks they may as well take office space there.

Once OF-VAR is fully up and running the Bookies Odds on them  ( Cel&The Ran ) conceding no more than … 20 league goals a Season will be fascinating.

There is no way the rest of Scottish Fitba will be gaining any advantage whatsoever from VAR.

Only the Premier league will stop - 5 weeks mid Nov-mid Dec.  League season starts for all 4 leagues end of July and ours will finish 1st week May with top league finishing end May.

Good bit of info, there HK ...

Let's hope during that 5 week period both DFC & Scotland are well involved in both competitions.
