Who was at THAT game? Why was it so amazing?

I was at home in Inverness watching updates on Teletext so oblivious to the fact that the city was witnessing the most electric game in its history.

The most electric game of 1987 was the skol cup quarter final, but that's not what's in the picture. 
 

What game is that? If that's tynecastle it wasn't as good as the skol cup

I don't know.

I believe it's from that season but you are right to say it's not from that particular game.

It's just a great pic. Maybe I should have said it's not from the Skol Cup game but I thought it was common knowledge the cup game was under the floodlights.

I included the pic to show the kits of the time so folk would know what era I was talking about.

The qf game ended under floodlights, didn't start under them..

and apart from that I knew it wasn't the qf because John brown didn't play in that game. Also think we had novafone shirt  by then

I'm always grateful for a Dee adding clarity.

You were there and you are absolutely right to point stuff like this out.

Stuff on the internet could last for decades. If you think a picture doesn't fit a story then speak up.

Got to agree mate Skol Cup quarter final at Dens gets my vote. Derry,Provie Main Stand and Stand enclosure which was meant to be for the filth support but had loads of Dees in was rocking.

Bedlam for the equalizer and carnage for the winner....nowadays the term i believe is  limbs  and scenes.

I love that we have Dees like Craigowl pointing stuff like this out.

The posters on here are to me a wonderful collection of DFC memories. I'd be disappointed if folk didn't speak up when I get things wrong.

Was at both!! Amazing trip through on a corporation bus to Edinburgh.Stood at the standing corner of the L shaped enclosure.Usual dejection when they scored 1st but immense "limbs" when we scored.A lot more of us than them that day!! DEVASTATED after the  2nd half..... perhaps the lowest i have felt after a match!!!..............Now the Skol Cup match i could go on all night!!!................
