Lamie has signed a new two year deal with Motherwell

Don't think he was ever going to sign after we sacked McPake and were relegated.

Didn't think he was any better than what we have which is arguably not very good. We'd have offered him a decent wedge to leave Motherwell so I don't see this as a negative for us in the slightest tbh.

Not too worried about this and it was expected following JMcPs departure. Even taking into account the 'get out clause' in the pre contract it makes a bit of a mockery of the whole pre contract business. Imo they should scrap the whole process as it does nothing but distract players towards the end of their contracts.

In fairness it didn't seem to distract Lamie. He scored the goals that got them into the top 6 and secured European qualification.

By all accounts he was their best defender after he signed the PCA.

Are motherwell now due us money... Did the same thing not happen with St Johnstone and Ross County when a player pulled out of a pre contract and his club had to pay the other.

No, there is no rule about a player pulling out of a PCA.

To me it's loan deals that should be scrapped as its a total farce. Why should clubs like Celtic have loan players worth over 5 million. Dabs have made it into Europe because of their loan player.
