Until I see how things are panning out, I wont renew, and for the first time in a very long time, I may pay at the gate. I have completely lost faith in those running the club.  Still suspect another wacko appointment is looming.  I would love to be proved wrong and if so will get a season ticket. But until Nelms shows his hand this time, I will wait.

Just to be clear I’m not encouraging anyone not to buy one. The point I am making is good news of some sort is thin on the ground and long overdue. Would be foolish therefor to close the Early Bird door before there is some.
The Club, Trust, Association and the Open Letter Group surely between them can get their heads together and come up with something.
The problems we have are well documented, there has been ample opportunity in my view to come up with some solutions to some of them. If that’s the case let’s be having it, if it’s not then I really do despair. We’ve around 30 active people involved at Board/Committee level, it’s not beyond us. I want to buy one ! Give me something or somebody to believe in.

Yip mate - July 18 in Fishel Website but no quotes, vision of the future or words of encouragement to fans not least to those deciding if they can be arsed anymore.

As I said on another thread, I'm fully expecting Dave Mackay to be announced as our new manager with Strachan and Nelms both saying he was the outstanding candidate.  I no longer stay close enough to Dundee to warrant purchasing a season ticket but have held one in the past.  I fully understand the reluctance to buy one but, as Billy Campbell's Ghost implied, if we don't then there won't be many new signings.

Yip, that’s one way to look at it but there are alternatives. One of them could be think it might better in the long term interests of the club to do better than hope people cough up, shut up and be grateful. Maybe I need to be a little more realistic with my expectations.

Ive not bought my normal two either. I'll be back in Scotland so will go to many more games than this past season but like @Parcbara I'll be influenced by what happens over the next few days and weeks before I commit to season ticket renewal......making the early bird into a wee bit late bird may help.

You don’t buy, the team will be worse than ever.

And who has got us into the mess we are in? John Nelms? After the Doon Derby Nelms and DFC had a great opportunity to progress the club and he blew it. Money is tight for many and even fans are looking for value for money. I will miss some games next season and believe that it is unlikely the remaining games will provide sufficient entertainment and value for money so will be giving buying one a miss..

Well said, Double Blue. To say "well, if you don't buy a ticket, we'll be worse" sounds to me along the lines of what John Nelms effectively said in his press  "comms tsunami" after the Open Letter Group's original statement...and,  forgive me if I'm misquoting our esteemed Chief Executive but it was effectively "please support us with blind loyalty...and trust us to follow through on everything we say".

Well, some of us have lived through our club almost dying twice in the past 20 years so may be forgiven for not really favouring the "blind loyalty" approach.

Some fans will buy every season,  regardless...and, yes, every club, everywhere has folk like that. Fair play to them.

Personally, I know a worrying number of what I've considered to be "good Dees" for a few decades who are talking the way you are Double Blue. I can't point a finger at any of them and criticise because my own commitment and enthusiasm is sorely tested at present...and has been since somewhere after Hartley and before the disaster that was the McCann-McIntyre season.

As scottg said in thread starter...some of us are looking for "a reason to believe" ....and we don't feel we are getting one...

Scarily believable.
