Yep, yet another managerial thread, apologies, but wanted to see where we stood right now, at least in the eyes of the media:

So currently in terms of media speculation at least, we're sitting with these options:

Peter Leven

Steve Kean

Gavin Rae (lives in Australia due to his wife wanting to raise the kids there)

Kevin Thomson (although media insisting he's not getting the job)

Dave Mackay (already publicly said he doesn't want the job and McPake wants him at Dunfermline)

Fucking end the season now.

Other than Ross and Maloney which seem to have a higher level of confidence, do we actually know who was in the 5? Nope.

Imo I don’t think Hartley would have been on there. Possibly Leven. Possibly Thomson.
I’d hope if the search was done properly that there are at least 2 unexpected names on there by which I mean 2 people who the journos would not be throwing about.
Most of the stuff in the papers will be made up. Gavin Rae + ex-Dee + currently out of work = clickbait.

As another new week starts, is there any hope amongst the DFC Fans, that maybe today, or at least this week, we will finally know, who has been selected as our new manager?

If this, what seems long period of waiting had been used wisely, then possibly no one would be complaining, about all the unsourced rumours, and what appears to be "made-up" stories, released by the media and anyone else, who had the time, and felt in the mood to do so.

Finding the right successful man for the DFC job, who can win us immediate promotion in one season, has to be the Number One Priority.

But appointing a manager who has the confidence & backing of the Dundee Fans & Supporters (such as the often named early favourite) will/should, make his job (weel maybe) that much easier.

My concern now is, it seems we are now "clutching at straws" and we are at the stage that what ever name appears, no one is gonna be getting too excited, knowing the appointment, was way down the line when it finally came down to at last a "Final Announcement of the New Manager"

Whoever it is, we wiil, & should, try to show, we are right behind him. But there is still that feeling for me, that this whole process, which may still have a bit to go, has been for DFC/JN/GS (And  us fans/supporters) a missed opportunity to show, we have at last got hold of this situation and all our focus is now on Promotion.

No New Manager will come witha guarantee of success. And if there is some luck involved, I hope the New Manager, Dundee, and Ourselves, are now maybe due some of this. But of the names listed by Rev above, I still feel if we had somehow made more effort to persuade Jack Ross to put pen to paper, not only would our job have been much easier, it might also have provided, that much needed confidence & new enthusiasm, and the opportunity for the return of these missing fans....with much needed financial boost that comes with, increased attendances  season ticket sales

Can another named manager not do this?

Well, I hope so...Mon the Dark Blues:chaplin:

We can only do so much-if he does not want the job and is prepared to wait on something else coming up its out of our hands.

He must have enough money stashed away to live on.
