Tbf that’s the cost of the full development

Taken from the BBC article.

Managing director John Nelms says it is "achievable" for Dundee to be playing in a new purpose-built stadium sometime during the 2024-25 season.

The club have submitted an application for a 15,000-seater stadium near Camperdown Park in a development that also includes 210 homes, a 100-bedroom hotel, a crematorium and restaurants.

Nelms revealed the the total cost of the project stands at £144m, with the club's contribution around £30m-£40m.

"My timescales are always much more aggressive than everybody else's," he said. "I want to get this accomplished and get it out so the city of Dundee can enjoy it.

"We're working with city council, we're hoping to have our full application in this summer. From there on we'll keep pushing as fast as we can.

"I would love to be playing in a new facility sometime in the 2024-25 season. I think that's achievable, whether other people think that's achievable [or not].

"The aspects we're going to build and keep, we've had many conversations and have engaged a group that is happy to fund what we're trying to fund."

Interesting to know how they could submit plans in the summer before the consultation in October? 🤷‍♂️

Maybe the total cost has been one of the stumbling blocks in getting the outside investors to finance the project. Judging by the way Nelms looked from the presser today (like a tinky) maybe he's started selling his claes to help fund it 🤔 👿

Okay, sorry Napper but I need to correct this as while the figure is correct the rest is not.

The whole project (Not the stadium) will cost around £140 million, but it's not the the total funding that the club will be putting forward. As Nelms said today, there are a lot of other investees in this and not just us. Nelms also said that the funds are already there for the building the Stadium.

He also said that he would he would love to be playing in the new stadium at 2024/25, but he couldn't give an actual date. While laughing, he also said he thought it could be achievable but whether other people do is a different story.

Go watch the interview yourself. The BBC misrepresented what he actually said there.

Whether the stadium happens or not is a different story, we will just have to wait and see. If you look at Aberdeen and their new Stadium, their fans are saying the same as us and Aberdeen are having a lot of trouble getting this off the ground as well, mainly due to rising cost and COVID.

Yep.. I have watched.. the original report didn't break it down.. I have no idea whether the project will happen or not..I hope it does.. I was initially critical of, whether  happening or not, JN's optimism, perhaps fantasy, that, even the stadium, could be planned, approved and built, in a two year period.. has he ever met builders?
