What would those in charge of the club have to do...

Recommended Posts

I have seen a lot of fans who have shown their displeasure at the current owners, whether it is for one reason or another.

So my question to those of you, what would the club have to do for you to be happy with their tenure at the club. I'm not talking about winning cups or leagues, but with the general things which clubs face day to day in their running.

Is it really that they do not communicate with the fans or is there a lot more to this?

Communicate and deliver on their promises - the rest would fall into place.

Each of us will have our own ideas John... But for those, who like myself, for whatever reason, cannot get to live games, your last line is a good place to start.

I think, maybe because of the pressure on here, and certainly from a range of  other genuinely, interested sources, the messages to the Owners (Maybe specifically JN) have got home, loud & clear. And even at this early stage, I believe he /they are acting on it and trying to address the issues raised.

Some things may never change. Some things will take a great deal of time, effort & money. But I feel now, there is at least a willingness to engage & try......And that is definitely a good & proper place to start.

Maybe we all get disgruntled when we hear "bad news" some more than others. But speaking for myself. And I know this from experience, I will definitely (given time) get over the worst that can happen in my life (Even personal tragedies)

But when left in a "limbo" without communication/dialogue/support...Then the old brain (including the voices) start to think...Really, what is the point !!

ANY RELATIONSHIP, THAT INCLUDES; TRUST, HONESTY, RESPECT  :happyyes:

(& shove in a wee bit humour) WILL NEARLY ALWAYS WORK FOR ME

I think that they have already done the majority of things I would like to see happening. Need to boost the commercial department so that they can run fund raising events. Jersey sponsorship is a good fund raiser. Open Day, using the youth academy players as well as the senior pros to interact with supporters. Build family ties and support the South East Section. Help Dee Promotions and try to recover the 1893 Foundation fund raising initiative.

Do what it says on the tin. E.g if you sponsor a player and that means you get the shirt at the season end or you are invited to a reception or whatever, ensure that you do it.

Professionalism with Comms, even answering the phones, the shop and ticket office staff being trained in customer service. We hear good and bad from both but the aim should be to consistently be excellent so fans feel wanted and valued.

Decent toilets with hot water, soap and towels.

A tidy Dens Park with no shit lying around and a cared for look.

oh and a decent team would not go amiss!

Nelms feels about as welcome as a Yorkshireman.

We've seen so many conspiracy theories on here, the club could make a fortune selling dark blue and white tinfoil tammys

Communication

I want to see our owners revisit their plan from when they bought the club, give an honest assessment to where we are compared to plan, I know Covid put us behind by a couple of years but I believe there should have been further progress than we have made so far, in fact I would say there has been little progress and we are only a few footsteps away from when they bought the club.

Off Pitch

Ground improvements until we move to Campy.....if it ever happens

We badly need to market the club properly, the commercial department has been on it's arse for years

On Pitch

Promotion at the first attempt, bring in players we can sell on, develop youth players into the first team squad

That'll do for now

Communication. They need to go into communication overload. To be fair that improved in the latter part of the season. But you can never get enough communication. Facebook, Twitter, etc etc.

Like the sound of..."communication overload" As well as, "you can never get enough communication" :happyyes:

Maybe it's a bit of an age thing/time/techy issues, me not being involved in Facebook Twitter & such like.

They should be involved in all aspects of communication to get their message over to old/young,all sexes.

Don't know all the details Attilio, but think they are doing no bad in these areas...Even trying to improve?

Start by giving the guy responsible for the stadium and it’s surrounding area one month to get it tidied up, seats cleaned, walls painted, toilets brought up to scratch etc. He has a massive amount of volunteer Labour and goodwill to tap into, all he has to do is ask. If it’s not done in that timeframe get rid of him.
