I would have been happy enough with him at Dens, but thats all, he isn't a managerial genius. His myth far exceeded his results. He won't do as well as Tam Courts IMO, and all the Arab who hated Courts will now get exactly what they deserve.

At least the circus show of him being linked to us every time will now stop.

Like most Dundee supporters I wanted him at dens, not just this season but after we sacked Hartley he was the ideal replacement once McCann had guided us to safety after 5 games. This one sliding door moment was Nelms biggest mistake. (He's continued to make them since) I genuinely believe he would have moved the club to the next level, how far he would have taken us is up for debate, however, I'm convinced he would have not taken us backwards and squandered more than any club of similar size in Scotland since we appointed Neil McCann instead.

He was never coming to Dundee FC this season or any season matter of fact! more than likely he was made aware of the the United job becoming available at the end of the season. I've said it many times, the structure of the club dictates that we can't attract a manager or players who have options to further their career with facilities on and off the pitch,. Dundee have not moved on or developed the club on or off the pitch since the 70s.  Nelms has failed to move the club any further forward from the day he arrived, facilities, shop, Stadium, training ground, match day experience, season tickets, fan base, the starting 11 all the same, worse or marginally better depending on what day of the week it is!

I'm content with the new manager and I hope he does fantastically well for our club, this will be his biggest challenge of his managerial career, he has no experience of the league, he has most of last seasons underperformers still on contracts and he will have to work with a buffoon as a boss. Lets hope he is the best thing since Archie Knox. As for Jack Ross, lets hope he is another Mixu.
