Sad thing is there's not many on here now that can say "I remember it well" and what's even sadder is that today's young Dees have little or no hope of ever seeing Dundee crowned champions of Scotland 😢

We have the same chance as any fan outside of the OF.  That's the sad fact of Scottish football.

I personally love how serious Bobby cox is in that picture 💙

Hi Freend ...

It was their range o' skills, coupled wi' their self-belief (And belief in their manager & each other) & their hard work, determination and individual personalities, that helped them all, as a team, to remain focused for a whole season on Winning the Ultimate Prize...

Thank You All ... What Memories Lads.

But like yourself, it was Bobby Cox in the photie, that my eyes immediately focused on.

As said above, we had a Team of Winners...But it was Bobby Cox who aye set the tone.

And just looking at that expression, coupled with his weekly 100% input in every game,

others like myself, will remember, the many times he led by example. Man was a God:chaplin:

But Love, Respect and Thanks to All of Them

Even if eh come back reincarnated (recycled)  :jawdrop:

We'll Never See, Their Like Again :(

Loyalty & Pride Mixed Memories :tears:

No chance. Rich elites dominate leagues all over Europe now. In Scotland, so long as the OF are around, the rest are just also rans. The gap is enormous. Quadruple trebles and invincible seasons says it all really.

Was reading a piece on Ian Bowyer, Gary's father, and Nottingham Forest hero. Won the league, two European Cups, and a few more winners medals as a player at Forest. What a story that club was. But unless there's a squillionaire out there willing to buy the best players in the universe they have little hope of getting close to former glories.

Another example, Aberdeen defeated Real Madrid in the Cup-Winners Cup final. A result and achievement similar to that would be unthinkable, impossible now.

Depressing how predictable so much of today's football has become.

Barfly it's impossible to disagree with any of your comments above...And knowing nothiing is likely to change, which will offer a more equal & inclusive space for all competing Scottish Clubs, I think we have little alternative, but to accept the present position...(As sad as it is)

The West Coast Two, may continue to "talk the talk" that they probably should be competing in the English Premier, where they will be given a real chance to compete at a level "more suited to their standing"...But I doubt, if ever, that opportunity arose they would be jumping at it...They are in a more comfortable position where they presently are, in terms of the crowds/results/ money.

United, Hearts, Hibs & maybe a few others, may pick up the odd win against the Old Firm. But they all realise, the best they can hope for is a Top Six Finish. I am not comparing Champioship with Premiership (in any positive way) But at least in this coming Season, we could (& some might say should) Finish at the Top !!

In many ways, this is possible and in our hands. It will never as you say compare to the era referred to, which I, a few others. were fortunate to live through...

But for now, if we can win promotion outright,

I will feel that Old Pride, coming back again :)
