After over 25 years association with dundee, the club have sadly decided to make me redundant. To say I'm gutted is an understatement but such is life. I thought I'd just put a wee post up so when people don't see me in the dugout or in my dundee gear then you know why haha I'd just like to say thank you to every player past and present that I've come across and every manager that i've worked for even the bad ones made friends for life, been abroad and got to see men naked in the shower so I've had it good over the years! If anyone is looking for a 60 year old worker that's good with a washing machine feel free to message me.

Apparently there have been a few redundancies at the club recently.

I read somewhere that the guy who runs the ballboys has been let go as well.

Sad to see this happen and I hope that they both of them find new employment soon,

Obviously with relegation there will be cutbacks but Lorraine was in with the bricks. The comments on her FB post are testament to how much she was loved by players, staff and fans. Football clubs need characters and Lorraine is certainly a character. Can't help but feel that the decision has been made without fully appreciating the role that Lorraine played and her impact throughout the club. Kit woman didn't do her justice imo.

Was just waiting on a pedantic comment like that but I suppose I set it up with my own interpretation of the word 'punted'. I'm sure it won't be of much consolation to Lorraine that she'll receive a redundancy payment. She's lost her job and the wording is pretty much irrelevant to her right now I'd guess.

It's not pedantic. That sort of terminology forms people's opinions and those opinions become 'fact' in a very short time.

How many people still say Jocky was sacked before the Bonettis came in? He wasn't sacked at all but most people will now tell you he was.

Totally different. Jocky's contract ran out and he was replaced. Football players and managers are different from other forms of employment.

Let's just say that the strips won't wash themselves so the job's not became redundant. Lorraine didn't voluntarily agree to being made redundant. In my book that only means one thing.

She will have been on relatively peanuts I would imagine. Strange decision, hope she finds new employment. Such a shame

Shame when someone loses their livelihood like that. Hopefully she finds something soon.
