I am never overly keen on bringing in loanees - can’t remember the last one that done us a turn .

I’d prefer actual signings but if you look back over Bowyers managerial career he has used the loan market a lot and seems to have had reasonable success with it too.

I think we will see a couple more loan signings coming in (on top of Williamson), not because Bowyer doesn’t want permanent signings but because our finances might dictate that’s what we have to deal in

I think that's because the loanees we've brought in have been very poor. United wouldn't be in Europe if it wasn't for their loan last year and St Mirren and Ross County would have been much worse if they didn't have their's.

It always struck me that JM never put much thought into his loan signings, players arrived, were unable to break into a very poor side and were benched. Some without kicking a ball in anger. Like lots of fans I’m looking for an improvement.

James McPake said shortly before he took charge that the reason he felt we went down was that we had too many loan players that just didn't care about whether the club was successful or not and only looked out for themselves. Said that if he was to get the job he'd look at the loan market but certainly wouldn't be his priority.

Covering up his own ineptitude perhaps?

You can’t pretend his time in charge was anything other than shambolic, inc his loan signings.

What?!

My post had nothing to do with his success or lack of it in charge. It was an explanation of why we didn't go down the loan market often under him.
