As much as he deserved it, sacking the manager 2 days before their first game of the league season is pretty mental. Very poor foresight from the club, the writing had been on the wall for a while.

Motherwell fans on Twitter seem to be happy about him getting the sack and haven't been happy with him since the middle of last season.

I think getting papped out over two legs by Sligo Rovers is a sackable offence. Should have been done much earlier to be fair, but it needed to be done even if this season is massively disruptive.

This must be a record early sacking! 
I have been impressed with how Motherwell have operated especially since John Boyle departed but they are looking a tad shambolic on and off the park now!

NB a very good friend of mine is a Well diehard, he told me a few hundred fans had already booked their travel and accommodation for the next round in Prague!
