I see the clubs have voted to get rid of replays...I can understand this might be due to fixture congestion issues.. but, some of my best memories are cup replays on a Weds night at Dens.. ok, this is the early seventies I'm talking about.. but, if the original draws had gone to pens, some great matches would be wiped from history... I remember years ago ties could go to more than one replay.. Call me old fashioned, but t'd prefer that to still be the case.. pens may give an underdog a fighting chance if they can shut up shop for 120 minutes..but getting the big team back to your ground for a replay is a money spinner that smaller clubs will miss out on under the new, sterile, set up.

Agree with all of that.  Nothing quite like a floodlit replay at Dens, especially if we win, which we have done mostly in my time. The Hibs game being my most memorable.

Utd and Aberdeen went to two replays in the 80s as did we v Them too now I just remembered.

And did Arsenal v Sheffield Wednesday not go to five games in the early 90s? Like replays but that was pushing it. With extra times, what a slog!
