Lopsided squad

6 midfielders on bench last night,1 goalie,1 defender and 1 striker.some serious movement needed over the nxt 5 days.

I had £100 on them, was confident after we scored but a bang average team looked far better than us.

Six midfielders yet almost anyway they are mixed they are a poor combination. We just don't have a decent central playmaker on our books. Playing McCowan and McMullan just weakens us against teams who are prepared to get in about us. On a loser immediately when these two start together.  Mulligan is a brilliant prospect but will have games like last night where he would be hooked by a better team. Midfield is so important, both in defending and attacking. Ours, as last night, can do neither. If we don't fix it, we could have Gerd Muller up front and he would not score many goals. McPake built that midfield very badly. Adam saved him.  Bowyer is showing no sign of improving that. Is it funds? If he was told that the squad he would inherit was good enough for the championship, then whoever told him that has mugged him. When will our bloody football management wake up and sort that area of the team?  Any weaknesses in defence, of which we have our fair share are worsened by not being able to protect them. And as for strikers. Rudden getting a lot of stick but those tactics were woeful. If he is only man up, and not a hold and layoff man, then how is that going to work? Playing two up front  puts emphasis on a strong four in the middle, or a strong three at the back and  a strong midfield.  That us gassed as it stands.

Anderson has to start on tuesday for me. Missed his energy and driving forward runs the last 2 games. I know he has been a bit off so far this season but he gives us something a bit different.
