Pointless competition for us, huge journey, potential injuries/suspensions.

Good for the fans. 6 hour coach journey is really nothing for most professional footballers particularly those in the squad that have played in the English leagues. Suspensions would only really impact this competition.

Obviously there's potential for injuries but that's the same in every day training and games.

Good day for the fans about sums it up. A day out getting blootered. Pre- season friendly level.

12 hour round trip is not insignificant for players. It's a possible overnighter.

This is of no interest to us at first team level. If Bowyer is even remotely interested in winning it then I'd be dismayed.

I am still seething after Fridays howling performance but seeing this draw has irrationally put me into the heads gone zone.

The Challenge Cup used to be a decent competition but the SPFL have turned it into an abomination of a tournament with B teams, Irish and Welsh teams. It is not worth our time, effort or money these days.

I hope we either just rubber the game altogether or send the fringe players in our youth teams if we really have to. Maybe ask any fans that make the trip if they want to moonlight as Dundee players for the day, probably more likely put in a better performance! 

It will be a braw day out for the fans but footballing wise, it is totally pointless.
