I'd like to see us pair Sheridan and Rudden with Mcmullan supplying.

A midfield 3 of Max, Mulligan and Byrne.

Mcghee has to go back to Ch with Ashcroft and French to RB.

With the midfield showing of Tuesday past, it is scandalous that Byrne isn't playing.  As bad and weak a midfield as any of that of McCann and McPake.  I think McMullan has to do more as well. His strength and danger comes when he is wide, not inside, where he is a lightweight.  Anderson by the skin of his teeth, but I think that I agree with his selection.

Just my opinion, but that is lopsided and would never work. The midfield is far too weak as well.

Any manger would just target our very exposed left back.

A back 3 with our CHs and Byrne in front has been a disaster area.

We tried the midfield 3 of Byrne, Anderson and Mulligan in a 3 5 2 against Livingston and we were 3 down in 20 minutes. Going on 5.

We tried a back 3 with Byrne in front against St. Johnstone and were 2 down in 30 minutes. Going on 5.

Byrne was hooked at half time in both games and we reverted to a back 4. He isn't quick enough to protect a back 3.

Throwing a complete formation change at this stage would be a sign that Bowyer is struggling. He has the players to work a 4 2 3 1 or a 4 3 3, but it has to involve McMullan wide right and McCowan wide left. McMullan is frustrating but is a very effective player at this level.

A 4 4 2 is possible but it would need a transition to a decent shape in posession.

The game at st Johnstone we got ripped apart down the sides not through the middle. Ohalloran and Rooney destroyed us down that side.
