Cap doffed lads. I had resigned myself to the fact that no video evidence existed of Eddies lob against Raith. Its just as a remember it in my mind - 25 years ago. What a treat.

Wait till @Ivan Drago hears about this.

Great season that. Remember being at Starks Park in Nov97 (I think), down to ten men and Jim Mcinally got winner in a 1-0 game, managed to miss the goal! From memory we ground out a lot of those type of results that season.

I thought we were the best team in the league in 95, 96 and 97 so it was a huge relief to finally do it in 98. And we coped easily with the SPL as well under Jocky. Imagine Peter and Jimmy and Peter gave him half the money of the Bonettis.

Probably one of, if not my favourite season following the Dee.

Does anybody remember getting free pepperonis at some home games season 98/99. Please say yes, as i seem to be the only guy to remember this!

Interesting seeing people so starry eyed about this season.

Plenty of boos at the time. We sacked a manager halfway through the season as the home form was so lousy. 

Watch the last game on the list and listen to the Derry boo. And that was after we'd won the league!

Thanks for the heads up  Frank, literally just watched this today! 

One of the few goals that are as good as you remember and age doesn’t improve them! Always a risk to rewatch these things in case it spoils the memory.

Am I also right in thinking Annand scored a worldie v Stirling that season?

Hope all the good old posters on here are well and we are celebrating come May.

Just looked back at the stats. Lost 6 games all season, including last 3 after the league was won. 
 

This season, we had lost 4 by end of Sept. 
 

Big difference was amount of players we took in before season started, proven guys like Irvine, Mcinally, then spent money on Douglas, Grady and Annand.

Another interesting thing for me is how poor crowds were, probably as it was our “4th” season down there.

Jocky won his first 8 games to take us to the title. Mood was obviously great during that run. 

Prior to that, our home form was 4 wins in 12. Long spells of that season, Dens was not a happy place.
