All about live games/highlights for me as it is my only window to watch other than games that are live on TV and it has been lacking for years.

Had a moan the other day about the highlights from Brechin's HedgeTV being much better than ours for the same game. Ours were uploaded from an analyst camera without any sound. Absolutely minimal effort put in.

Have heard the line trotted out before about broadband issues at Dens and such like affecting live streaming but I am just not buying it. Watched us live at Stranraer and away to Queens Park at Ochilview last season in the league cup and both streams were excellent quality, with clear picture, good camera work, nice graphics/scoreboards with team line ups before kickoff. I find our commentators absolutely unbearable too. I don't believe for one minute that Stair Park and Ochilview can accommodate such a service while Dens can't.

Teams that come to Dens produce better highlights of games at our stadium than we do. A lot of them for free. RaithTV, FalkirkTV, QueenParkTV, ParsTV all produced quality highlights from games at Dens last season for free, uploaded to YouTube within a day. What do our paid subscribers get? A crappy full match replay with not even as much as a clock, where you need to scroll through and try and guess where the goals are, before getting 'highlights' from the same footage about 3 days later.

Last season there were a couple of games where I opted to watch it on the SPFL portal with the crappy automated ball camera rather than DeeTV because it was so bad.

I know it's a bit long winded for an issue that most fans don't really bother with, but when it's literally your only way to watch Dundee it is really frustrating. I don't even care about the cost - 12 quid is relatively cheap compared to some teams. I would happily pay 20-25 a month if I was guaranteed a quality live service for every match. A decent camera and sound equipment surley wouldn't cost that much? I don't know much about the technical stuff behind it but when teams in the Highland League or League 2 are producing much better than we are, from much more remote stadiums, I refuse to believe we can't do better.

Thankfully this year all our highlights will be on the SPFL youtube channel.

Thanks for the insights. Having seen all the players interview clips on Facebook I thought maybe the club are getting their act together and considered re-joining after many years. Now, maybe not. I can get match highlights with commentary plus player interviews for Dundee Stars at no cost. They see it as a marketing tool to increase interest and they've just broken their season ticket sales record. Meanwhile at Dens Park....

Out of interest how many season tickets have Dundee Stars sold?

Yes that's poor. The match production should be much better. I have joined up now to hear all the pre season interviews.

A little bit skeptical of the Stars ST numbers. They were guff last season, the prices have increased, and the place was half empty for the couple of games I got to last season despite ST sales again being a 'record high'.

The attendance figures in the EIHL aren't really published and most numbers you see quoted are approximate. One website had the Stars with an average of 1558 last season. Sure the ST numbers were around 800 mark.

That beck interview in the latest presser was weird.

What was that about.

I enjoyed the subtle dig at United in the Beck interview.

In what way? Just watched it and just seemed like a young lad well schooled in the art of speaking to the media and saying the right things. Unless some parts have been edited out 🤣
