Booking Portales for his first foul even though he let a worse tackle on Mulligan go without a booking 10 minutes before was classic Collum.

I thought Portales went to ground once or twice and made challenges that on another day could've been given as fouls. In all honesty, whilst that's maybe part of his game, he's sowing the seed of doubt in the referees mind and as we saw last night one late one and the cards are out. His challenges on the deck last night were probably needless too as they were in areas where the player wasn't going anywhere particularly dangerous. In the Premiership he'll need to adjust his game to suit otherwise I think he'll pick up a few cards and possibly, as we've saw in the past, earn himself, rightly or wrongly, a bit of a reputation. I think with some of our referees it's probably inevitable.

Agreed, said the same in another thread. He needs to be careful!

Re Portales booking, after a similar tackle earlier by a Dumbarton player didn’t even warrant a talking too, it confirms my view that some refs like to book "Johnny Foreigner" (but not if they play for the old firm).
