I know we have a line-up thread but thought this topic was worth creating for a more in-depth discussion about the goalkeeping situation. Not included Legzdins as unfortunately for him, I don't think he has a realistic chance of being in the conversation at the moment unless there's an injury crisis.

Initially thought that Carson was a shoe in for the goalkeeping slot but a pre-season bereft of action for him gave McCracken the opportunity to stake a claim and he quite literally grabbed it with both hands. I'm torn between sticking Carson in this weekend or allowing McCracken the chance to be replaced after losing goals. Both scenarios would be harsh on him but a good man manager, which I think TD is, will make the right call whilst keeping both players happy.

Can't decide between the two right now.

Carson will play if fit

Unfortunately for mcCraken albeit played well you cant pay for a keeper and not play him

What a decent keeping line up we have so it all bodes well whoever plays

Plus Carson you'd imagine be right up for it against his old manager/team

Carson will be in as soon as Doc deems him 'fit' enough imo.

Might not be this Saturday though as expected to get a very hostile reception.

Yeah Saturday would be a gamble if he's not 100% and after McCracken's recent Premiership debut. Would play him against East Fife and tell him to get us through to the next round. Chance to shine and show he's ready to step in.
