IMO you don't go from sharing a few players on loan to actually investing in that way, even if that part of the discussion is premature. A Premier League club can just forge friendly relationships without actually investing and it's not something I believe has ever happened in Scottish football before.

It's hard to really speculate but I do think there has to be some especially creative business case behind it, also given this hasn't been the first time this type of thing has been mentioned.

I’m all for link ups with clubs down south but never ever give up control of the football side. Quite a few dangerous scenarios spring to mind.
