Been outstanding for them going by reports.

I still rate him and would not object to see him returning in January and pairing up alongside Boateng but I think that ship has sailed.

It's a pity, because I feel that we really could do with someone to partner Boateng and I think they would work well together. I haven't seen enough of Howley or Sylla, but what I have seen, they haven't impressed me that much. I cannot see Marcel Lewis getting any game time, and will most likely go back to his home club in January.

I'm not sure which month his contract ends next year, but I don't think we will be giving him an extension any time soon.

Still believe that dropping Byrne was Gary Bowyer’s biggest mistake. It was almost a β€˜anyone but Byrne’ approach which resulted in wasting time and points tinkering with guys like Grayson and then McGuire (who was decent enough to be fair) trying to find a fit. Glad he is doing well at Raith.Β

I will never understand why GB felt he had to target him out?! Always felt that he would be more than enough in the Championship and some games we were dying for a bit of dig in midfield, which I felt he brought to us.

I know I'll hear it from someone about the Byrne thread being raised yet AGAIN but as it wisnae me who brought it up, I'll say one last time, I always felt there was a Byrne/BowyerΒ  conflict of interest. A skilled player lost for now, given little or no opportunity to play leading to an almost self-perpetuating reason to continuously leave the guy out

Saying no more.Β

Yeah, the level of targeting him out seemed to be disproportionate to the standard of players Bowyer was bringing in to replace him. It didn’t make any sense to me whatsoever. Bringing in Grayson would be like TD dropping Carson and signing Jack Hamilton. However, I totally accept that Byrne does split opinion.Β

Raith fans are loving him right now, and he seems to be doing a Charlie Adam for them, and he is one of the reasons they are pushing United at the moment.

All I am going to say, good for him as I am glad that he is getting game time!

I don't think thre's any harm in raising this again Indeed...

I don't get to any live games now, so maybe my tuppence worth comment has little (or less) value.

But, that said, there does seem a case/possibility, that Bower & Byrne hasΒ  some personal fall-out..

Certainly it seemed most DFC Fans wanted to see him involved. And GB was simply not having it !!

Apparently, James McPake is fearing Byrne, and someone on P&B has said that McPake has asked us to cup-tie Byrne for their fixture next Friday.

Not sure if we would care if he was cup-tied or not?

How could Dundee cup tie a player when he's registered with another team and Dundee don't have a cup tie to play him in?
