Today Celtic chairman Peter Lawwell has told the club's annual general meeting the financial gap with Europe's top clubs is "getting bigger".

In September, the Scottish champions announced a pre-tax profit of £40.7m for the year to June.

Celtic are complaining that they cannot compete financially with Europe's big guns. A bit like the rest of Scotland complaining about the financial gap between them and the old firm?

Some within Celtic's circle have also complained that due to the lack of competition in the Premiership it hinders them when competing in Europe. Who was it that voted way back for home clubs to retain 100% of home gate receipts, thereby "depriving" clubs of the financial bonus when visiting Parkhead and Ibrox?

Some have also suggested a move to England would help them financially to compete better in Europe. That may be the case, but their almost 100% guarantee of playing every season in Europe would likely disappear when competing every week with England's big hitters. They can't have their cake and eat it.

No sympathy for them, they’ve screwed all other clubs for years. Not forgetting that a couple of “provincial” clubs helped them because they thought that they themselves were Billy big baws.

They really have no shame, do they!

They, along with The Rangers, have ripped the pish out of the rest of Scottish football, and they have the audacity to moan about the gulf in money when they face stronger and better clubs outwith their own little bubble.

f*ck them, that's all I have to say.

Exactly.... Why should anyone else in Scotland care about them in Europe when they don't give a sh*t about any of the Scottish teams on a weekly basis!

Change needs to happen in the Scottish game for the good of the game. If ALL teams are looked after equally then the quality here would improve, in turn improving the ugly sisters also.

Or they could just f**k off down to England or Europe, do us all a favour!

Let me get this right, they're complaining that there's not enough competition in the Scottish game? when they've snuffed out any threat & had a stranglehold on Scottish football for years!

Yup and they can take their refs / linesmen and Var refs with them, oops and their supporting pundits and so called sports writers, we don’t need bias.
