Dark Blue Property Holdings - Newco's on Companies House

Just watching Keyes and Nelms on Companies House, there's been a flurry of activity since the Dens Park (Sandeman Properties) purchase.

Three new companies registered last week:

  • BREWERY DBPH LIMITED
  • BOTHY DBPH LIMITED
  • MAKER DBPH LIMITED

It looks like they are using DBPH to denote any of their city business now, any guesses what these are specifically referring to?

Guessing the last is the holding company for the new 71 Brewing restaurant at Temple Lane.

Could the Brewery DBPH be related to the development of 71 Brewing's Ironworks property? I thought Nelms was a director and investor into 71 Brewing

The Maker is the new name for Hunter S Thomson's on the Perth Road. I thought the New Temple Lane business was owned by the chef/restauranter Dean Banks.

I assume the Brewing DBPH business is related to 71 Brewing but isn't that owned by Duncan Alexander with John Nelms a director/investor?

All three have only two named directors, Keyes and Nelms. Described as “ open ended businesses”

Maybe Nelms/Keyes are using/going to use these companies to invest in 71 Brewing and other businesses? The development at Ironworks with the new bar/restaurant and the arts space upstairs won't come cheap so maybe Nelms and Keyes are helping to bankroll this.

I think it must all be positive news in confirming their interest in the city

How does DFC benefit from them confirming their interest in the city? End game for me is what are they doing to move Dundee FC forward and to put us into this fantastic new stadium that's been nearly ten years in the planning and that we were supposed to have been in two seasons ago but which has never even had outline plans submitted yet?

I'd say apart from finally getting a decent (so far) manager, after many attempts and failures, that has us fans feeling a bit more confident than we have for a while probably not a great deal.

I'm afraid that starting even more holding companies to manage cash into businesses unrelated to DFC means absolutely nothing to me.

Did you expect progress on the new stadium during Covid?

Oh no no, definitely not.

I expected most of it before Covid and the final pieces since. There's been nothing, nada, zilch, diddly, zip except empty promises and missed deadlines.

Being totally cynical if I were to acquire £100 from less than legitimate sources and gave 100 people in my circle a penny each then the £100 would be very hard to trace. That cynicism probably comes from the decades upon decades of gross mismanagement we've endured though and a natural scepticism of anything without too much context and open to interpretation.

Whilst I'm open minded re the stadium the timescales, increased costs and less than transparent dialogue so far has me more wont happen than will. It can happen but realistically it's seeming less likely the longer things drag on.

If you had £100 from less than legitimate sources and gave 100 people in your circle £0.01 each you'd still be sitting on £99 from less than legitimate sources - bit easier to trace if the majority of it's still with you?

Kinda missed my point mate.

I'm suggesting something that's happened in the past could potentially happen again although I've nothing to base that on other than a fearful mind that bears the scars of previous ownership.
