Has your opinion on this changed or stayed the same?

Personally, I still think that VAR could work, but it is the standard of the officials which is the problem here. When they are taking up to 5 minutes or more to make a decision, then you know that something is wrong with the whole process.

Thought it would be good and would stop the bigot two from getting penalties against other teams but nothing has changed they still get penalties for Phuck all, ps plus our refs are sh!te and inconsistent especially against us 🤪

Best referees we had were the foreign ones we got when ours went on strike

I would actually go a bit farther and say the refs we had a good number of years ago 60/70/80/90s were better than todays (bias included), last 5 years or so they’ve been getting worse, add in the c*ck ups with VAR, plus the bias of the offsite Var officials and we have the worst combination.

It interesting to see how the league would look if the games were played out with referees initial decision without VAR involvement. I don’t think it affected us that much in terms of points - mulligan red was initially a red, Bakayoko goal ended up irrelevant as we won anyway, and the recent controversial decisions at Livi and Hearts were all initially given by ref or the penalties missed. The only one that stands out would be St Mirren’s second the other night as it was initially offside, but we could still be playing now and not have equalised.
I liked the idea of it at start of season, but every goal seems to come with a pause of dread before we can properly celebrate and each time the ball hits a defender in box there is anticipation of the game stoping to check.

Long winded answer to say Yes, I now dislike it.

Never wanted var in the first place ,still far too many calls subject to individual opinion, goal line technology 100% it's either over the line or not plus because of the extra officials needed for var too many of these fast tracked refs are completely out of their depth

As Spurs boss Postecoglu said...,"I don't like it. Would prefer referees to ref the games without it and just accept that they make mistakes, like all of us."

Throw it in the sea!

Still absolutely blows my mind that there are still educated, adult humans in this world who roll out the old 'its not VAR that's the problem, it's the people who use it.'

They get to vote in elections and everything. Thankfully they are gradually becoming a dying breed.

This version of football was the version that we fell in love with. It wasnt broken but folk tried to fix it.

For me, every fan who constantly berates the refs week in week out is part of the problem. They caused this.

i always thought the whole idea of VAR was to help the ref with any CLEAR and OBVIOUS mistakes...if its taking 5 mins to decide if a players kneecap is offside then it becomes a farce

we still see players diving about like they've been shot to buy a freekick or get a player booked yet VAR doesn't get involved with sh*t like that

i'd like to see them tell the ref "he dived" book him.
