Rick-c-137 Posted 29 March 2025 Posted 29 March 2025 I don't drink before a match either. Just saying for all the moaning about the new stadiums location that it's to far from ant pubs. Plus the new stadium will have a beer hall. And there's a bar in the hotel across from KFC.

I took my dad to Dens rather than the other way around, we moved from the Derry to the Coxy and eventually to the Main Stand. The last time we went to Dens together, after a pint in Frews and a meeting with @DarkBlueKnight, we had our picture taken by one of the photographers which was unexpected but nice given it was our last time together at Dens. So great memories both personal and some shared by thousands of others, the Skol Cup DAB victory being (probably) my own favourite but there are many great memories that we tend to forget given our up and down recent history. It'll be a sad day when/if they close the doors but tempered by our move to a brand spanking new facility. Game changer IF it comes to pass. Hear you there Rev. It was the 2nd anniversary of my old man's passing yesterday and I struggle to think of any of our real connected times together that doesn't involve the Dees...3 cup finals...the 4-3 Derby at the dump...and countless Dens memories including the Skol Cup you mention. FFS standing in the pissing rain as we lost 5-1 to them at Tannadice still sticks in my mind. Conversely, the 5-1 comeback v Celtic along with the 4-3 v the Gers still rank up there. I think the only time my old man embraced me was during those moments. We could be playing on the moon and that wouldn't detract one iota from our very individual memories. Move on up and create a whole new chapter of memories in a spanking new stadium. 6

I'm maybe of a similar vintage Notso, but my prostrate would probably account for me missing a fair few goals these days ant that's without a few pints! 2

Kingsway Farm, bowling, ice-rink, The Admiral, Birkie Inn and Sandy's off the top of my head are all within walking distance (for those able) of Campy. Sure there's a couple of places down near Asda at Myrekirk too. If people want a beer they'll get one. 1

Billy Campbell's Ghost Posted 2 April 2025 Posted 2 April 2025 Anyone know when agenda for 13 April planning meeting is published?
Parcbara Posted 2 April 2025 Posted 2 April 2025 So many memories of Dens Park. One strange, not actually within the park but for me , dark memory. In November of 1967, Dundee faced Royal Liege in a night game in the Fairs Cup. Coming from St Marys on a jam packed 1B, there was a hold up at St John's School. It was the night the guy Mone shot and killed teacher Nanette Hanson. A tragic event. There were searchlights and police all around in the grounds of the school. I saw Gilzean score 7 in a game, although I cannot remember anything about him. Cologne, second time, was probably the greatest game that I ever witnessed for excitement. Any win against the fantasists was always brilliant. But the old lady is beyond redemption now, although both ends are as good as any other Scottish ground that I have attended, which covers most, and all of the bigger grounds. I would love for the new ground to come to fruition. 4

Dens is up there as one of the worst stadiums in the top flight, if not THE worst. Then youve got the area its built within. The provy road area especially at the top at Whites bar is an abomination. Junkies and alcies rattling about everywhere. We need a fresh start away from this shitehole and to attract new young fans, the new stadium will go about attracting new blood that would rather be sat in a modern stadium and everything that comes with that. 4

The road going past GJ's is an utter disgrace, rubbish in the street and every garden expect one. Dog sh*te, broken glass, and don't get me started on the state of the wall on Dens road. We desperately need to move. 2
QuesoGrande Posted 6 April 2025 Posted 6 April 2025 Just been up at the leisure park. Ice hockey match on. If anyone from DCC objects to Campy on basis of on site traffic or access then they have a brass neck. It’s mayhem up there. Cars on all the pavements, double parked, lining the road in Camperdown Park. The proposals from DFC for stewarding and parking options are way better than this.
