If anyone from DCC objects to Campy on basis of on site traffic or access then they have a brass neck. It’s mayhem up there. Cars on all the pavements, double parked, lining the road in Camperdown Park. The proposals from DFC for stewarding and parking options are way better than this. Green-eyed arabs turn a blind eye to that. Parochial short-sightedness and jealousy holding the city back at every turn 2

If its that bad with their attendance, what will it be with ours, that will be their view point.

Whereas we are proposing to have stewards to stop the bad parking plus permits and predefined parking points and managed entry/exit so actually ours should be better despite the increase in numbers. 1

Pretty much nobody cares about ice hockey, hence its not newsworthy. 1 hour ago, QuesoGrande said: Yeah I see that but I believe there’s no rules for the hockey. They get 1500 fans at a game, it's not comparable to us. We have to plan for full capacities, thats what DCC and decision makers will be looking at. There's bad parking at loads of things, the difference is, we are big news in the city, as are Utd, so a spotlight is placed upon us.
Reverend Lovejoy Posted 7 April 2025 Author Posted 7 April 2025 For most able bodied supporters common sense will prevail and parking spots will be sourced within walking distance of Campy, anyone who's been to some of the grounds with on-site parking will be well aware of the folly in parking there where the gains in a shorter walking distance are lost due to the long exit times. People will find their feet and finding appropriate parking will become second nature just as it has for decades whilst playing at Dens. Is VAR involved in the stadium planning application decision?. We seem desperate to rule it out rather than finding ways to rule it in. 1
Double Blue Posted 7 April 2025 Posted 7 April 2025 They had a full house of 2600 last night but the Courier don't cover the ic hockey so they won't know about any parking problems.

A sell out at a an ice hockey match (2300) does not cause any more mayhem for parking than a game at Dens or Tannadice on match days. Its how you manage it and looking at the proposals for the new stadium plans are in place to manage traffic flow. 2

No. As far as I am aware DCT didn’t pay for providing match reporting. Reporting done by the Elite League and the Stars themselves. Maybe DCT don't employ a journalist with sufficient knowledge of the game. Although when it comes to football

So 2500-ish hockey fans cause a mess right now because it’s uncontrolled but a DFC match will be stewarded and cars will not be permitted to do what they currently do at hockey. So actually 10,000 football fans will cause less chaos than 2500 hockey fans. 1

I find the drivers at the ice hockey very friendly in ĺetting parked cars come into the flow of traffic, especially at the t junction beyond the hotel, however the big problem is for cars parked on the side near to the Kingsway, especially if the have parked bonnet first and have to reverse out. A bit of common sense helps.
