Just read the courier article, April planning committee cancelled due to lack of business!

I can’t read the article, so they cancelled the meeting because there weren’t enough issues to be discussed? That’s absolutely mental if that’s the situation. Bonkers

All it says is ‘lack of business’, not sure if that means zero or a low number. I would hope that even if Campy was the only active one then they would still go ahead, which makes me think that maybe the new traffic document hasn’t been reviewed by planners yet?

Disgusting even if there only one thing on then it should still go ahead .

Bet they didn't postpone their wage increase if there was only that on the agenda.

Corrupt bias Arab council

Something smells within DCC.

This is a major development, not just a homeowner putting up an extension. This in itself should be reason enough to make the scheduled meeting worthwhile. I have been told that all meetings are via MS Teams now so not as if the need to physically be anywhere is a barrier.

Would there have been similar delays and blockages iif it had been that lot across the road?

I think that the club are not blameless , but this sounds like green-eyed arab interference, IF the submission has actually been received.  I think that the meeting would convene for even one application.

Any Dundee resident can contact their local councillor, by email, and ask for an explanation as to why it is not being heard.  Will only take one sentence, if you include your name and address. easy-peasy. They will respond.

I have done so, but think our cause would be best served by others doing the same, to show that this is causing concern.

If this was America, we would have been well in by now. They obviously underestimated how many brown envelopes needed to change hands over here.

Swift reply from my councillor when I asked him when the application would be reviewed:

I am not sure you are aware that unfortunately I am not permitted to comment on the detail of this as this will be a future planning application going to Planning Committee.

This is due to the Code of Conduct for councillors.    This is not because I am being awkward, it is simply that the code expects that councillors are not involved in the administration of planning applications to recommendation stage as we sit on the Planning Committee that determines non-delegated planning applications.

What you are asking is a job for planning officers.   Councillors only find out what is on the Planning Committee agenda about 10 days before a committee meeting.

Should you require further clarification, please contact planning officers at planning@dundeecity.gov.uk – hope this helps.

So what is being said is that at this stage in the proceedings the councillors not only have no impact on the application but don't even know which applications will be going forward to the planning meeting.

A bit different from the Celticesque paranoid postings about arab councillors stopping a meeting going ahead to prevent approval of Campy Nou. 🤔

Yes looks like it.
Doesn’t rule out Dab planning officers though 😉
