My view has always been that the Camperdown site doesnt fit in with the Council Master Plan to regenerate the city.I think they want a multi purpose arena used by both clubs in a location nearer the centre. Now where that could be i dont know!!....Docks,Ex Rail yards ive no idea!!!

Pretty sure it was the council who suggested the site at Camperdown to the owners

The Invergowrie population didn't want to be part of DCC incase their council tax rose, despite mainly using the facilities of Dundee, so no way should any new stadium be built there 😉 😡

Might have been at the start one of the suggestions but.............

The transport submissions need to be reviewed by Transport Scotland/Amey, so this could take a while yet. Planning will only consider the application when our submission has been fully considered by the appropriate National authorities.  So it's taking so long, not because of councillor affiliation,  but due process, which could only start after they received our submission. We have only submitted the information, so nobody to flog here. We need to be patient. I can't publish my councillor's reply because I haven't told him that I would do so, but it sounds right to me.

Amey won't have any say on it mate. They only maintain whatever infrastructure is already there or whatever gets added. They had nothing to do with Swallow roundabout except assisting with or providing Traffic Management for any lane or road closures.

Probably right.  I'm probably naive but I just don't understand why so much of this falls on us to provide.  What is the purpose of TS if not to be the expert voice in the room.  Basically all they are actually doing is marking our homework.

I'm a qualified coach in another sport - it's like me asking someone to tell me what they think the technique should be to play a shot and provide a detailed explanation as to why.  Or maybe, I could just show them.

I've submitted planning permission before and it was a case of working with the relevant trades/bodies/authorities and trusting their professional judgement. After accepting that I couldn't do X, Y & Z and implementing 1 or 2 amendments to the original plans permission was granted. What happened though, which I later found out was (fairly) common practice, was that those with something to gain financially would overestimate the end product and underestimate the cost- basically they'd sell you a dream which may or may not end up being out with the original budget. I got 3 quotes for the work which were a wee bit different from the original estimates I was given. I wonder whether Nelms doesn't want to commit to costly road works given the already hefty hike in material and construction costs from where we were at the outset back in 2016.

I am certainly no expert on planning applications and there is certainly a lot of sh*t being thrown by various parties at this moment in time. And I understand that it's difficult to apportion blame towards any particular agency at this stage.

However on a broader term I just don't understand the mentality of DCC. I think it's pretty well recognised that they are not the most forward thinking on planning applications and can recall various things that look like a benefit to the city being rejected over the years. Dundee as a city is on the bones of its ar*e financially with poverty and  unemployment issues, which will likely become worse given the collapse of Dovetail and Dundee University on the brink of collapse.

Given that you would think they would be doing all the can to assist in getting this project over the line given the significant economic benefit to city in the building of the facility and the permanent jobs that the finished project will create.

Personally think that they are just not interested is it is not a project that is within spitting distance of their precious waterfront. Don't get me wrong lovely down there but walk a few streets towards city centre and place is a fu*king sh*te hole.

DCC suggested the Camperdown site, we looked elsewhere, including where The Eden Project is being built but the council pointed us in the direction of Campy and indicated that they'd look favourably on a development proposal there.
