Double Blue Posted 9 April 2025 Posted 9 April 2025 Re whether TS or DBH should be providing the answer to the traffic/transport situation. If DBH have employed traffic consultants/experts at some cost then I would hope they would have the experience to provide a solution that was likely to be taken favourably by TS, perhaps with a slight adjustment after discussions between the parties. Surely it is not rocket science. 2

Perhaps over-cynical, but early bird season tickets will be just around the corner. That will be extra difficult given the possibility of being in the championship. 1
charliedee Posted 9 April 2025 Posted 9 April 2025 Why don't travel Scotland and nelms sit in a room together and come up with a plan that suits both parties...seems a bit pointless coming up with all these plans only for travel Scotland to rubbish them 5
darkbluecheshire Posted 9 April 2025 Posted 9 April 2025 Whether Nelms thinks or presumes they shouldn't be discussing finer details at this stage, the transport lot are advising it to be the case, so rather than spend money on B.Cox (nice video), put it into a team that will deliver the stadium (because who ever he is being advised by isn't delivering), it sounds all very sus, when he starts blaming a body publicly, and campy is 2 years delayed...... If we lose campy project - you can see DFC will go up for sale.......... IMO 3

IMO Pretty much how I see it, we're fast approaching make or break territory...........if we haven't reached that stage already. Provide the answers and get it done.
Border Dee Posted 9 April 2025 Posted 9 April 2025 The one issue to resolve right at the start of the process years ago should have been getting agreement on access and traffic issues and if it could not be agreed then move on All the nice videos etc are never going to make a difference to getting the required planning permission particularly when it is down to an organisation like Transport Scotland considering the key issue

Reverend Lovejoy Posted 10 April 2025 Author Posted 10 April 2025 Having thought about things I've convinced myself that the relevant departments/bodies aren't sitting with key information having been withheld, that doesn't make sense because it's no skin off TS's nose if we get to a stage where our PPIP proposal can be heard. My guess is that there's a way around the apparent traffic issues but it's costly and we'd rather not have to pay it so are hoping for a rethink or an alternative. 1
Billy Campbell's Ghost Posted 10 April 2025 Posted 10 April 2025 I saw on tv this morning that the Eden Project are to open in Morecambe as well but has been delayed 2 years due to similar issues as ours.
dfcman Posted 10 April 2025 Posted 10 April 2025 TS is a Government body set up to manage roads. It is not authorised to criticise publicly any private company such as DBH.TS has gone well over the boundary here and DDC Councillors and MPS and John Swinney should be giving them a rocket and putting them in their place which is to assist and not sabotage applicants.Heads should be rolling in TS . 5
MinceVennie Posted 10 April 2025 Posted 10 April 2025 Name me one ground in Scotland that has easy access and exit for cars and buses and close proximity to rail. now that leven has a train station, East Fife is easily accessible at the other end of the scale the national treasure that is hampden nuff said imagine if they moved the national stadium to somewhere central like Stirling I am sure TS would have to have some input 2
