No mention of traffic issues for the Eden Project.A huge bit of ground but i still think The Docks or what was the railway yards would have been the best option to allow access for all fans North,South,East,West. Anyway decisions been made and now we must see what happens.
Double Blue Posted 10 April 2025 Posted 10 April 2025 The Eden Project is forecast to bring in over 500,000 pa so on average about 1500 per day. Not quite say 10,000 on a single day over 2-3 hours. I also assume visitors will either mainly visit via tour buses or shuttle bus service from the train/bus stations.

Great post !!

I certainly don't walk from Dundee I live walking distance from Murrayfield and I know where fans come from as the motorways into Edinburgh are chaos on a match day but few of these people expect to park in and around the stadium. Park and Rides are used and as I said once in town everyone walks. Bus and tram yes but walking is faster than the bus,
MinceVennie Posted 12 April 2025 Posted 12 April 2025 Many moons ago I remember parking up in the small car park which is now houses between us and Lego city beside Ron Dixon and we started talking and bemoaning the lack of car parking spaces. I suggested that he bought the dump and turned it into a car park, chuckles all round
Double Blue Posted 14 April 2025 Posted 14 April 2025 Realising this is the latest time when a decision was due to be made at the planning Committee i checked back my online diary and noticed 23rd August was the prior decision date. How many other dates were previously announced? More worrying is the realisation that the Riverside training facility was approved on 4th November but still no spades in ground. Is this a warning that even after approval things might not progress quickly. Anyway, more pressing is staying in this league. Can the club achieve this?

Your concluding statement above Double Blue, says it all for me... It may well be, I'm now into the age, that the dubious & certainly questionable prospect, of the New Shiny Campie Complex , that will "supposedly" provide, all things for everyone, offers me little joy & excitement...My total focus at this time, is the quality of football DFC is providing/offering, it's long suffering fans/supporters on the Park. I no longer get to Dens Park, so, wi' reluctance, I accept the views of others, who attend regularly...The general opinions/views being; That Dens is no longer fit for purpose. And even minimal plans to simply maintain & improve a little, our present stadium may not at all be possible. That said, it is difficult (imo) to accept the spiraling ever increasing costs of the New Build Complex at Campie can ever be justified...Bearing in mind, there seems little concrete proof, the future financial returns/income justifies what in my view will be a colossal ever increasing expense/investment. Others will totally disagree I accept (And I'm no' gonna fall out wi' other DFC fans/supporters whatever their views) But I've reached the stage, that if TK & JN felt, it was time to walk away (for whatever reason) And some other Investor/Owner came forward, clearly expressing a view, that his/her, total focus (& investment) would be totally directed & focused, on seeing DFC as a Regular, Successful Premiership Club. And at this time any way had no interest at all, in redirecting his time, focus & investment on Dreams of a New Stadium... With regard to or Present Home "DENS PARK" it may well be this crumbling wreck, I keep hearing about. And the place that is costing us a fortune to maintain...Although I'm not totally convinced the maintenance figures that are bandied about, could not be reduce (Also including, some general, small improvements to Dens Park, within a restricted budget) Whatever is spent in this area, will never reach the final, dizzying heights, of what will be spent on Campie (should it ever come to fruition) It's quite easy to insist that Campie Stadium is a necessary, long term investment, that given time, will bring huge returns that will benefit everyone (inc DFC). But I'm not convinced at all with that view. If it ever comes to fruition. Is there any guarantee DFC will receive any direct benefit. More importantly will the New Commercial Facilities within the Complex ever be used? (I will not be offended if other see my comments as "nonsense"... But some responses wid be nice) Regarding present state of Dens Park. Well at least again, the Turf is once more, in Prime Condition Time to put focus/time/energy/enthusiasm on making DFC, regular successful Premiership Club 2

Had that been the focus, rather than the Michael Jackson Neverland Plan perhaps we would be in a much better state.

Too many people on the gravy train now, we'll either stop at Camperdown Station or come right off the tracks.
