No construction jobs as they are template buildings assembled in days. Crap paid jobs for schoolies. Meanwhile at Campy we will still have a brownfield site crying out for development

Hopefully someone will have an actual development for Campy one day.

FPS or their Property company want to redevelop the Dens Park site, the one thing they are good at is Real Estate projects. If we don’t move out what do they do with it ? Forget all the baloney about toxic substances in the soil etc. I think it would be positive if FPS found a buyer who were more interested in the football side of things than they are. They have done some good things for the club and some not so good things, if they have an exit strategy hopefully it’s one that will not damage the clubs future.

Can you give the example please of one good  real estate project they have completed? I'm genuinely asking and not being facetious.

This one been on the go for ten years and still no planning permission been applied for.

A wee bit disingenuous to suggest no planning permission has been applied for - we are in the planning process now and PIP is a step in that process.

I would love to see the planning on around access routes for Eden Project and what Transport Scotland approved for this. May well be they have a plan in mind but atthe moment coming from east on any normal Saturday accessing the Gallagher retail park there can be massive Queues with only one or two cars able to get through each time lights change due to the inadequate car park. This congestion will be adjacent to the Eden project site plus you would imagine increase also potentially the amount people looking to go into retail park before or after a visit to Eden Project. Congestion here for me every weekend and bank holidays etc is much more of a concern as will ultimately impact flow around city centre/access to bridge etc. Bit of congestion every couple of weeks for football match for a few hours is almost insignificant and already happens just a few miles up the road!!!

It's not at all. You aren't properly in the process until you cover the points requested and it wont even get to council table as it is now.
The Transport Scotland statement last week was highly unusual in its specific points

Not strictly true but I know what you mean.

Don't think cars access is a big part of this Eden project. Public transport and active travel seem to be the watchwords.

With hindsight we should have maybe pushed that angle a bit more in the traffic planning documents.
IMO it’s not the onsite parking that’s the problem at Campy. The car park is quite small and restricted to VIPs, disabled and permits so the new access off Kingsway I don’t believe will be a problem. Unlike Eden however, there are lots of places where folks could park nearby that would cause issues. The leisure park, campy park itself etc. They all use the same small access road. I’m not sure how we stop that.

I think that is the crux of the criticism. How do you control the cars if you don't have parking spaces for them?

It's obviously not the most attractive of buildings, but would a multi-story car park have been a better option.  If you park in there for a game you accept that you're not getting out quick, but the ice hockey would be able to make use of it too.

Dens tannadechy etc most don’t have car parks

The whole parking thing is a load of sh*t!

Most stadiums including Dens which we are moving from are in the middle of housing estates with no parking available except on the surrounding streets.

This new development not only removes the cars and congestion from local neighbourhoods but does indeed have some kind of car park and is also right next to a massive public park and 2 industrial estates which all would be perfect for parking on match days.

Surely we can’t be expected to build a massive car park etc to accommodate every possible car that might be there only to be used around 20 times a year!  Crazy!

Also to add that the traffic is moving from neighbourhood built up areas that aren’t designed for thousands of fans to the main city bypass is surely another plus point
