you wonder how Spurs and Everton for instance got their projects approved and built in a far more congested city setting....oh,hang on I know because we are backward thinking moaning luddites who can.t see progress until it hits us in the pus! Just get it approved and built, the traffic is a side issue that will only happen fortnightly and a ridiculous excuse.

Don't forget the West End luvvies and the tree huggers who perpetrate their anti-Campy bile under a supposedly neutral banner. These people KNOW CAMPY DOES NOT ENCROACH ON CAMPERDOWN PARK. Why not close McDonalds, the Cinemas and the Ice Arena while they're at it.

Dens tannadechy etc most don’t have car parks

Exactly, neither would get planning permission for their structures if the ground became available as an open plot of land.

Tottenham Stadium is built on the original site. More an argument for revamp at Dens, imo.

The whole parking thing is a load of sh*t!

Most stadiums including Dens which we are moving from are in the middle of housing estates with no parking available except on the surrounding streets.

This new development not only removes the cars and congestion from local neighbourhoods but does indeed have some kind of car park and is also right next to a massive public park and 2 industrial estates which all would be perfect for parking on match days.

Surely we can’t be expected to build a massive car park etc to accommodate every possible car that might be there only to be used around 20 times a year!  Crazy!

Also to add that the traffic is moving from neighbourhood built up areas that aren’t designed for thousands of fans to the main city bypass is surely another plus point

I don’t think it’s the industrial estate and residential parking areas around Campy that’s the problem. People will come and go from there via multiple different roads. The problem I believe is that people will try to park in the leisure park or in the park itself and that all feeds one very small access road onto a small roundabout. I totally agree that the new car park and new slip road aren’t a problem. Hundreds of cars all trying to navigate the wee roundabout at bottom of Faraday St will be the issue.

Seems odd to think back when topics were posted just for fun. I think we might get complaints for taking a thread off topic. Maybe we should start a nostalgia thread? As far a Campy goes, it seems very unlikely that T S are going to accept the solutions being put forward on behalf of the club. Also been telt, that my thought that there could be a financial exit from Campy by dropping the stadium and selling the site is very very very unlikely.

Hoping fixing Dens will be plan B. Wonder how the Marr's managed to get the two stands built. Surely putting up a new SE with decent new hospo wouldn't be beyond our current owners? Then upgrade the Main Stand.

It's not the solutions being put forward that are a problem. Its the lack of them

" We have repeatedly shown willingness to engage with the developer to address these issues, but they have yet to provide the information necessary that would allow us to give a definitive response to their proposals.

“We also remain in discussions with the local authority over the wider concerns about the lack of clear and sustained progress the developers and their consultants are making.”

I assume their master plan was always a stadium as the centrepiece and the other amenities as the 'support act.'  I have no idea if they'd be willing to leave the stadium out and upgrade Dens instead and develop Campy regardless.  I feel not as I imagine they bought out club as a vehicle for the overall project rather than having any intention to run a football club in itself.  However, over the past 10 years maybe they've fell in love with us and be willing to look at other options.
