Reverend Lovejoy Posted 18 August 2025 Author Posted 18 August 2025 A non article in today's Courier really, we've identified a site after encouragement from DCC and I think that'll be that, we're not going to do an about turn and redevelop Dens or move elsewhere. It's Campy or bust basically. 1

There will effectively be no car parking on site, which is fine providing there is either adequate parking nearby or public transport capable of getting everyone to and from the stadium in a short period before and after the match. None of these seems to be true for this site. It's also the reason I don't understand the Transport Scotland objections as without any significant on-site car parking, where would the traffic be going? If the stadium won't have any significant on-site parking, I don't know why you would locate it next to a major road? Surely the reason you locate things on major roads is for ease of access by car. I've been to games at Wembley and Murrayfield recently and neither have car parking but they do have extensive public transport options, that despite being extremely overcrowded, just about manage to handle capacity crowds. If we are building without car parking, then it should be in the vicinity of good bus and train links which is all in and around the city centre. I would have thought an increased demand for public transport would be met by companies that provide these services. 1

And the stadium is about two miles from city centre. Parking is not required for football fans. Look at every stadium in Scotland bar McDiarmid Park

Think there is a planB where the team and manager do well, winning football matches and some new investor takes over.

I don't see them releasing the finances or having the appetite for a reset and a move to another site. 3

Agree with you, but instead of going bust, I hope they will realise that there is a football team to work on, and with a bit of effort they could take a phased approach to restoring Dens. 1

They'll not technically go financially bust but their desire to finance of shortfalls will go bust imo. A wild idea maybe but could Nelms go it alone without Keyes seeing as he has many business ties to the area?.
