Squad signing in my opinion. But he's direct and has reasonable pace and I can see him being more of an impact player coming of the bench, certainly to begin with. Thereafter its up to the lad to show he has what it takes to get a start week in week out.

I might be totally wrong here but my thinking for the first game of the season is that Ross, Low and Hemmings will all start. They came to Dundee (I'm guessing) because they were frustrated at their lack of starts at their previous club and so Hartley will not want to risk annoying them on day one. Loy will be happy to step up a division so will probably be happy to wait for his chance. Therefore, I think Stewart and Hemmings will play up top against Killie with Ross and Low joining McGowan and Thomson in midfield.
