Spfl: Celtic V Dundee, The Aftermath And Your Thoughts!

The team played very well today and played for each other, still having issues with some crazy defending, but overall I think we deserved a point from that game.

Didn't think that Celtic were much better than us, but they seem to have that clinical edge and a bit more dangerous up front.

Though in saying that, I think our front two gave the Celtic back a hard time and Stewart played extremely well.

Can't disagree with any of that.  Harkins went to sleep at their first goal but it was a great finish by a quality player imo.  We certainly need to sharpen up with balls coming into our box from the flanks.  We're getting better at that aspect but it's still a worry.  Having Thomson back should help the defensive side of things a lot.  Great performance today and unlucky imo not to get a result.  More importantly a lot of players returning fom injury and the squad is looking strong again.

I was really impressed with Scott Bain today. Commands his box, comes out for the ball and that stop in the second half was pretty decent. I was sure that it was going to be three then.

On his way to being a very good keeper.

Konrad and Mcpake today put in some good tackles. Konrad really impresses me, always seems cool at the right moment (Or it could just be that he is German and they all have that look lol)

Watched on stream and have to admit was genuinely disappointed not to come away with a point. Celtic just have that killer instinct that champions need to win games when they don't dominate, we're well short of that at the moment.

We could have been a goal up within a minute and could have been two up before they settled. We still need to defend balls into the box a bit better.

Harkins is beginning to frustrate me, all the ability in the world but just seems to operate on the periphery of the game for long spells. Saying that he's capable of magic at times and it would be difficult to leave him out.

Greg Stewart would be touted in the tens of millions if he played for a particular side. He gave Celtic's defence nightmares yesterday that they'll still be having today.

Deserved a point, got nothing, that's life we move on and hopefully do Aberdeen next week.

Just like yourself Deeranged, I watched the game on stream ....... and just like yourself I felt we deseved to take away a point.

You are definitely right about Greg Stewart. He is getting better and better with every game. And if he wis playing for "some ither club"     WELL........

I am a real fan of GH. But to be honest, listening to the tollies spouted at regular intervals by the the two Celtic Commentators, I felt the need to defend him, every time he was on the ball.

( I hope somebody plays their snidy remarks back to him before next weeks game ........ He will shut them up then ...... good and proper ........CLOWNS )

Decided to have a morning run up the law for my sins today and was thinking about the game.

For me the key points are two fold. A lack of width on the right and not keeping possession well enough in midfield.

Stewart is playing his best football when he hugs the left touch line and then cuts in so that sorts out the left side which I think isn't cooncidental to Irvines recent good form. However the lack of cover on the right is leaving McGinn exposed. For me roberts gets his shot sooner rather than later, yes he won't track back but he'll get his boots white on the touch line and not give a huge area for their left back to run into.

Secondly and more problematicly we sinply give away possession in midfield far too cheaply. Against the likes of kille and well you will get away with it, however teams like celtic and worryingly the Dons will punish you for it. Thomson is fantastic but McAllister and especially mcgowan just do it far too often. I know he's not everyone's favourite but I would pair McBride and thomson holding with Harkins stewart and Boyle/roberts in front of them.

That said there's loads of positives. The back four look solid, Gary Irvine is like a new player, we've got the goal scorer we've been crying out for for years and we are going to places like Parkhead with a positive manner.

Now I'm off to consider why the hell I thought running up the law was a good idea.

Good thinking bainssleeve ........  (and it's good to see you are no knocking the mad posters)

It wis the way they dumped the ads onto the site by passind adblock and the accompanied ultimatum ........Basicall saying, pay us £2, or pit up wi the ads !! That finished it for me. If it had been £2 towards the DFC youth development, I would have thought nae mair aboot it.

Some great posters on here now ....... and I do hope we continue to see the great posters from other forums coming over, if only for a wee visit.
