Just shows what the SFA could have got with proper investment in Hampden.

Left miles behind!

I'm surprised the SRU haven't tossed Murrayfield into the ring for this, they're desperate for cash and its a bigger stadium too.

It would be a massive minter for the SFA!

That said, Murrayfield is poorly designed for food concessions and bars as none are in the concourse and you have to actually go out side.

The point was more that it never will be again due to the SFA not keeping stadia up to date.

Think you're miles off with the point you are trying to make in this thread.

Hampden was a UEFA 5 star stadium (the highest grade you could get) until they changed the way they grade it in 2006 replacing the 5 star ranking with "elite stadium".

It is now one of only 32 UEFA elite ranked stadiums so has the highest the possible grading that a stadium can get from UEFA.

Only Wembley has had the Champions League Final twice in the 13 years since Hampden hosted it last and Hampden also hosted the 2007 UEFA cup final.

Also hosting a game (last 16 tie plus group games I think) in the Euro 2020 Championships. I like Hampden but you're too far away from the pitch when behind either goal.

Hampden is a terrible stadium. Very badly designed when you see other stadiums. The view is awful from behind the goal and the atmosphere it creates could be so much better. Also bad memories of going there supporting us. Some good ones supporting Scotland, the best beating the Dutch in the play off in 2003. Not been to watch Scotland since Avril took charge, that was the final nail for me renewing my travel club membership.
