This sounds daft. Is it a custom that every Championship winning  team has been welcomed onto their pitch by their opponents on their first home game?

Don't think it's a good idea. Might be possible to have a mote appropriate welcome delivered by our support. Maybe Cheerio Cheerio Cheerio, but I am sure there are other options.

Maybe they should then applaud us for finishing 7 places above them in the League set up last season. Daft decision that deserves the treatment that will surely be meted out by the fans who will be housed immediately above the area where this farce plays out.

According to the Daily Dab, the Dark Blues will applaud the Championship winners, United, onto the pitch at Tannadice on Sunday.

Discuss..

I would be happy for us to do that, like lambs to the slaughter, then batter them.

It is custom. Motherwell did it for us last season and QP did it for Falkirk last night.

I don't necessarily agree with it but choosing not to do it would make us look small time and possibly write their team talk for them. Allow them the custom, boo it too hell from the stands and then put 5 past them.

Then it won't even enter our heads in the aftermath.

It's not custom it's a recent thing. Don't agree with it. We don't have to do it. Just treat it with the contempt it deserves. Half of their players that will walk out weren't even playing for them last season. Just go and give them a real doing. They'll be calling for the managers head by the full time whistle.

Is it though? In England they only do it in the same season the league has been won unless it goes down to the final day of course.  Don't see any other league in the world giving a guard of honour in the first game of the next season to the team who has been promoted. Just don’t get it.
