Yet loads of empty seats. What’s going on with  crowds and announcements in Scotland?

I believe that most clubs include season ticket holders in those figures, even if they do not turn up.

I feel bad for those who probably wanted to go to the games, but could not get a ticket.

Shame that clubs do not implement a policy that if you do not intend to use your season ticket, then let someone else purchase it at the shop and give the season ticket holder a discount for another non league game or at the shop.

New owner was giving out a lot of freebies and pushing it as a special occasion for Geoff Brown, sure the home stand behind the goal was entirely comp.

Don't imagine anyone who wanted to be there wouldn't have got in, they never actually declared all tickets had gone pre match.

Think just trying to spin up some good press and get a bit of a buzz about the place.

It was the same with Kilmarnock in their home European tie a couple of weeks ago. The commentators and pundits went on and on about it being a sell out crowd when anyone could see it wasnt. Then the official crowd was announced at a figure only two thirds of capacity. I doubt if season tickets were valid for that game either.

It was good to see a decent crowd in Perth last night. This weekend was a real opportunity to showcase Scottish football on Sky with 3 live games and no football down south yet. Along with the sold out derby, it was a great weekend for Scottish football.

St Mirren v Hibs also looked pretty full and Falkirk had a huge crowd v Queens Park on Friday night and Killie and St Mirren looked bouncing last week for their European ties.

Regardless of whether these are actual sell outs or not, it's great to see provincial clubs with crowds on the rise. I know there has been plenty of chat on here about people not going to games because of IPTV but I do genuinely think the appetite for the Scottish game is on the rise among our own population.

St Mirren had less than 5,000 home fans on Sunday, after the season they have had, for there first game of the season I think that’s slightly disappointing.
