So I've been thinking, dangerous I know...

If McCowan goes. Which I hope he doesn't but 3 things. 

1. I think Cameron is as good as McCowan and think if we moved Mulligan or Robertson into the middle we would cope. Especially once they got upto speed. 

2. With the money, I would want us to really think about improving TDs contract situation. We throw 3 year deals at absolute roasters every year. I would rather we kept the secret sauce, which appears to be him.

Giving Cameron a free role might to some degree compensate for McCowan. The other two, I would say to don't suffice for the gap that we have currently. Mulligan is best in attack and Finlay isn't physical enough to do the job that we need If Sylla gets injured or suspended we would get roasted as we stand . In my opinion.  But totally agree about the manager.  I have no idea how his contract compares to that of managers at Aberdeen, Hearts , Hibs and Kilmarnock, but as far as we are concerned, we need to be getting closer to them if we want to emulate their general  (not current) league achievements. Docherty shoul dbe the highest paid individual by far, but he may well be that now.

The manager signed a new deal in the summer.

Cameron has so much more to do off the ball - it’s an area Luke has improved in and even he is short in this area . IMO we need a level of experience brought in with or  without Luke and would crumble running with fin or Josh alongside Cameron and Mo  for a season . Both are not starters for me at this stage however will play a strong part in our season

When was the last time we gave anyone a 3 years deal? Must have been under Mcpake as Bowyer and Docherty haven’t I don’t think. Agree though, we must ensure we keep Docherty and as Rev points out he got a “new” deal in the summer whatever that may look like
