Just wondering on what players you've seen play for us that maybe haven't got as much praise as you thought they should have. I personally thought Garry Brady was decent, nothing spectacular obviously! Any more you can think of? In your opinion of course..

Sean Higgins. Contributed quite a lot to the side and run his heart out.

I remember him getting two soft yellow cards away to Dunfermline and getting quite a hard time from the support for it. A few weeks later, golden boy Griffiths gets frustrated and basically assaults a Motherwell response. Same people were defending Griffiths as he was 'learning'.

I think most people did appreciate him for what he was but there were some who felt it necessary to be overly critical of him.

I was a big fan of Shaun McSkimming in his first spell as a youngster so was a bit gutted when we let him go to Killie aged 21.

I thought Chris Coyne looked a good defender before he was offloaded to Luton.

Hugh Robertson was a player I liked but we didn't see much of him in the first team.

Davide Grassi wasn't as bad as some made out IMO.

Have read Colin McMenamin get a bit of stick on here. I really liked Coco myself.

When I saw this thread the first name I thought of was McMenamin. He seemed genuinely sad to leave us too.

Agree on McMenamin as well.

He was played out of position too often and got stick for not scoring when he was stuck out on the left.

I also agree Colin was too often unfairly criticised and looked devastated when he left. Did we not try to register him again later in that season but some sfl rule prevented us?

I also agree about eric paton and think Paul mchale deserves a mention. Steady player imo

Totally agree re Garry Brady and Kiko Torres. Brady had a bit of guile about him.

Personally thought Higgins was poor. Always caught on his heels and I've never seen a player on his backside so often. Was one of those funny strikers who was clearly a good finisher as he took most of his chances however his movement wasn't the best so he didn't get that many chances. Had a good wee run at an important time though.

For me I liked Swankie and also thought Gary McKenzie was very underrated. Kev McBride also.

Agree 100% with Brady, Mcbride and Mckenzie Ivan, but swankie??? Really. Tell you a funny story. My mate is groundsman at arbroath. When sheerin was manager he would phone him on Saturday morning and ask what the weather and conditions were like. If it was raining or he would confirm, "well that'll be Gavin on the bench today then" I kid you not! Never seen such a bottler play in the dark blue either. Talented yes, reminds me a bit of Roberts, although I think Roberts has a lot more talent.

Yeah I thought he flitted in and out of games but had some real flashes of quality. Mind a game v St Johnstone (ironically in the pishing rain/sleet) where he scored a couple and absolutely bossed it.

As you say far too inconsistent but on his day a very decent player at that level IMO.
