What Was The Last Film You Watched?

A thread that is a roaring success on P&B because essentially, most people don't stop watching films and always have something to give a mini-review on! Helps others decide if they want to see the film as well and on and on it goes!

Nostalgia

Russian film made in 1983 by Andrei Tarkovsky. It's a bit self-indulgent and more of a 'film as art' piece than it is an enjoyable film. I suppose if you connect to it you'll love it, if you don't, you'll not find something more boring as not a lot happens.

5/10.

The fault in our stars.

Two teens, both who have different cancer conditions, fall in love after meeting at a cancer support group. The movie truthfully captures the joy and pain associated with love and loss. It might be hard to sit through without a cry, or possibly even buckets of tears especially if you have lost relatives to this horrible disease as I have. But ultimately the film is uplifting. With the harsh world of cancer as a backdrop, this film is not about dying. It’s about living.

Verdict - 8/10.

The Blind Side.

The film follows Oher from his impoverished upbringing, through his years at Wingate Christian School (a fictional representation of Briarcrest Christian School in Memphis, Tennessee),[4] his adoption by Sean and Leigh Anne Tuohy, to his position as one of the most highly coveted prospects in college football, then finally becoming a first-round pick in the NFL by the Baltimore Ravens.

8.5/10
