The tully always gives players better marks and remarks than merited. I think that although we deserved to get something out of the game a few players were below par, I'm not naming them as people on here get very touchy and I'm not wanting an argument.

Surely the whole point of a forum is to discuss things? As much as I don't think there were any let downs in the team on Saturday, can happily accept others see the game differently so you shouldn't feel that you need to hide your opinion.

Agree.

Ref: "Below par performances"......all the more galling we took nothing from the game if correct.

There were no let downs on Saturday for me. Irvine struggled a bit as a right sided player playing against Forrest, but that's about it for me. And I am not blaming Irvine either, he was facing Matthews as well coming down the flank, it must have been tough.

Hello and Welcome deefly78 ............. From your post......."people on here get very touchy"

Maybe no meant as it was read, but do you no' think it is a wee bit too early to make that kind of assessment ?

I know there is a reasonable  (and right) emphasis on picking up on abusive posts, but if anything, we could be accused of maybe being over-friendly in some of our posts (and probably none more so than my own ......  cause I very rarely argue with anyone)

I'm sure every poster on here would never fa' oot wi another poster, jist cause his/her opinion was different from theirs. ..............mind if you are going to come doon very heavy on the players, mak sure they dinnae mak a point of meeting you some dark night !!     Take Care.

Hiya Deefly78,

We at the Darkblues will always encourage constructive criticism of the team, the players or for that matter anything really. There is a big difference in saying 'Harkins wasn't at his best on Sat, his passing was terrible and he was half pace off everything', compare that to 'Harkins was fucking sh**e on sat, he is a fat lazy bassa that could pass a ba tae get his hole'.

So, you can see there is a big difference :)

Amazes me that folk always pounce on Irvines every mistake when he is playing out of position yet never mention McGowans persistent losing of posession and hospital passes to teammates, normally followed by a volley of moaning!

There's a guy that sits behind me in the mainstand that curses Irvine constantly. He decided last season that he was gash and that was it, as you say, others get the benefit of the doubt but Irvine might as well have a yellow star on his back. It was almost funny for a while but I'm getting bored with it now, the thing is he's not that bad a man, just an annoying one now.

Irvine wasn't great on Saturday but Harkins, Thomson and McGowan were not great. Harkins was the poorest of the three. I'm a massive McGowan fan but think this was his poorest game for us. I know that KT is just back from injury but he looked of pace, constantly fouled and poor passing, I hope he gets back to how he was before the injury because he is miles our best midfielder in his position. Harkins allowed Stokes a free header, slow and off pace, poor passsing, lost ball on countless occasions and tried to beat one too many.

We need these three players to be on top of their game this weekend
