Probably in a big minority here but I would like to stay at dens

Being older all my good memories have come at dens and I don't really want to move to some soulless place like Campy

I know it's not an option for nelms and keys but I don't think Campy will ever happen ,  I don't give a monkeys about crematoriums ect

I just want to watch my club playing football at dens

Totally understand where you are coming from. Have been going to Dens for well over 60 years and it's a way of life to me. I don't want to stand in the way of progress though and can understand the reasons and advantages of a purpose built stadium so I'm on the fence regarding Dens v Campy. My heart says stay at Dens, head says move with the times and relocate i.e. if we can get permission. There's something in the hold ups in planning etc. that push me, however, into the lets move camp. It would/will annoy the hell out of me if DAB agitation, DAB councillors and a general NIMBY attitude to Campy stops it happening which certainly seems to be the case at the moment.

Maybe just me but going to a place like Campy with no pubs around it and the hassle of getting there and back out again 😔

Maybe I am just getting old

Doesn't bother many fans who drive as no pub on the agenda.

Agree. But to get a modern state of the art stadium we would need to flatten all four stands and start again. That's just not feasible.

Of all the new build stadiums in Scotland none of them are very atmospheric or have any sort of wow factor. All of them are the cheapest materials and in the middle of industrial parks.

Dens with a new main stand a  full length replacement for the Derry would be my preference based on tradition and habit, but doubt the viability of such a development. Just cant see Campy happening, because we would have seen much more progress if the problems were resolvable.  As for the council,  totally unimpressed. A mixture of arab jealousy and lack of modern outlook  just stagnate this city. We need only look at the lack of a decent concert venue for so long. The council are happy to rack up shitty tribute acts in the tiny Caird Hall. This latest administration led by Flynn senior is a belter.

How long would it take to demolish and rebuild The Derry?

I wouldn’t mind if we were left with three modern stands and a  historic old main stand that can be maintained as required.

It may not be the moneymaker that Campy would be but it won’t be nearly as costly.

We may not have any option but to stay at Dens  in the short term, or until it fails a safety certificate, with the Derry obviously the first to go.

With the current limited revenue streams the new stadium is a no brainer with all that it potentially brings in terms of new financial opportunities so I'm definitely all for it.

Imo (and it's just my opinion) we're a wee bit backward in this country when it comes to change and when it comes to alcohol. People are apparently happier to stay at a dilapidated ground due to familiarity and the distance between their last pint and the Dens Park pisser. There are a lot of memories at Dens but let's make new ones, Campy offers greater opportunity to do that.

Best post for a while.

4 to 5 thousand seat full length Derry(plenty Room With a slight pitch adjustment) and a straight Main Stand opposite with corporate facilities was always my hope!! 12-15 thousand capacity. All within the existing foot print. This or Campy..Dont know anymore which is more likely??

100% Campy and I'm not overly optimistic on Campy.

Who is going to shell out the millions it'd cost to build 9000 seats worth of stands for no return?.
