How about an old classic?

His name is Greg Stewart, he's the leader of our team, the finest centre forward the world has ever seen.

He's here, he's there, he's everywhere, he scores the vital goals.

And as for Darko Bodul, you can stick him up your hole.

Sadly, it would be a LOT easier if his name was Stewart Greg!

(Can anyone have a word with him??)   :)

What *does* work, (isn;t quite as flowing, but scans)

Is to sing "Greg Stewart" to the Tune of "Ivano, Dario"

The syllables are slightly longer, but not enough to throw the rhythm.

"Greg Stew- Iiiiirrrrt..... Greg Stew- Iiiiirrrrt.."

"Ee -  Van - Ooooo..... Dar   Ee   - Ooooo.."

To the sound of Give Me Joy In My Heart

Could use the Dariusz tune and have

He's Stewart, he's Stewart, he's Greiggy Greiggy Stewart. He gets the ball & scores a goal Greiggy Greiggy Stewart. Original but effective lol.

Seen this thread at work today and have been pondering a wee tune ever since...

What a nightmare of a name for a for a fitba song he has.

I'm now finished cutting the grass and I still can't think of a wee catchy number!

To be fair, Rumples effort is brilliant but we'd run out of puff halfway through the first verse!

Short, sweet, witty and catchy is the order of the day..

Thinking around stealing Fab cabs verse of "sent down from heaven, to wear number seven" but need the rest..

Where's Burt Bacharach when you need him?

You'd have to be pretty unfit to struggle with that ya wimp!

The tune of Yellow Rose of Texas really does fit with Greg Stewart. If the second verse is a bit man-love iffy then maybe

"He loves to play in Dark Blue

He won't wear tangerine

He really* hates the Arabs,

He's Greg Stewart of the Dee."

* "Really" can easily be replaced by any two syllable sweary word!

If anything takes off it will be at an away game because someone tries out a song on a bus then the busload picks it up to launch at the game where the whole Dee support are close together.

I agree it's about time we give him his own song.

We could pay him the ultimate compliment and add in greg stewart instead of dun-dee into hey Jude. Works and sounds perfectly

Thoughts

Nah nah nah, nah nah nah nah, nah nah nah nah, gre-eg ste-ewart
