He's still a Rangers fan despite their fans hating him.

I think Spiers genuinely thought that United were the perfect model for a mid-sized club like us and them. Sensible finances, excellent youth system, constantly building competitive teams, making top six and reaching cup finals. To be fair, he had a point. It has all since unraveled quite spectacularly for United though. Suddenly it's Dundee doing everything right and them doing everything wrong. Happy days.
