It will be interesting to see how 'committed' we are to playing our strongest team and having a good cup run with the injury list we currently have.

If KT, Loy and Low are fit for Tuesday, do we play them or will they still be carrying niggles and Tuesday will be 'too soon for them'?

To my mind neither of these three will feature.

McPake should be rested as we have plenty of options at CB.

Harkins if available should play

Tankulic, if fit, should start.  We need to start seeing what he is made of when starting.

We play them, we desperately need a good cup run.

We are going to finish around about the same place as last season i would have thought as lack the strength and depth to deal with injuries to key players to challenge for a European place.

Low out for two weeks at least, I wouldn't play KT or Loy if fit, there are enough players available to see of a 1st division team,

I would expect us to be going full tilt in these matches, a decent cup draw can see any team go far in this competition,

As for league position, I think we are capable of top four this season,

We're capable of top 4 with Loy, Low and Thompson playing regularly if not 5th or 6th is more likely.

What kind of reply is that, who do you see above us, ICT, Arabs, Motherwell, St Johnstone, no the teams they've been in past years, Killie,Patrick, will be fighting relegation, only team I'm no sure about is Ross County.

Don't think Tankulic is fit. He come on last week and he really didn't look ready and today he was on the news as ruled out. I'd go with a strong(ish) team:

Mitchell

McGinn Konrad Jules Meggatt

Harkins

McGowan Ferry Ross

Stewart Hemmings

I really want to progress so want to play a balanced team without too many changes but at the same time, I think we do need to rest players.

  • Mitchell in for Bain as it'll be good to give him match practice. If we're in the situation where Bain gets injured in a big match, I'd feel more comfortable with Mitchell coming on with a competitive game under his belt already.
  • Ferry in for McPake. Basically to rest McPake and to give Ferry a chance against opponents from a lower division.
  • Meggatt in for Holt. This is Holt's first year at this level and although I think he's got the legs for it, I do think players suffer mental exhaustion to more exposure so a rest should do him good while giving Meggatt a chance.

If we've got a solid back 4, Harkins and Stewart; we should be fine.

I might go for keeping Bain in goal but can see the benefit in playing Mitchell.  I might also play Irvine instead of McGinn as it gives you another 'leader' on the park.  I'm fearful of injuries full stop now and would rest Stewart but we have zero options on that front.  Carriero also might figure.

I think we should play our strongest team, we are not good enough to rest our best players and comfortably beat Dunfermline.

Bain's saves have kept us in games this season and could keep us in the cup.
