Recently there has been a lot of debate on this forum about what will happen next with DFCSS.

In my opinion the remaining board of directors should call a Special General Meeting to find out which direction the DFCSS members wish to take and also to encourage members to stand for election to the board of directors.

Do the DFCSS members want to;

a. DFCSS become a passive investor in Dundee Football Club with one representative on the board of Dundee Football Club.

b DFCSS to become active fundraisers to handover funds in exchange for shares in Dundee Football Club.

c. Fundraise with a view to either purchasing Dens Park from Sandeman Properties or build up a "Rainy Day" fund in case FPS decide to sell up with DFCSS having first refusal on the purchase of their shareholding.

Interestingly Colin Reid is still listed as a director of DFCSS despite his one month notice period of resignation expiring on Sunday 9th August 2015. http://www.dee4life.com/the-board

DFCSS should be disbanded, the DSA reinvented and get back to basics, do what they were originally set up for,

Running buses to away matches.

Organising functions to raise money.

And the end of year stripper, Allan Laing was the man for that.

We have people in place now to run our club, they look committed, and don't need the average punters two bobs worth.

Agreed, especially when they can get it here.

Any intention of standing yourself and trying to get these innovative ideas voted on?

Deeranged.

I have previously posted that as I currently live on the island of Islay there is no point in me putting my name forward for election. However I remember having to vote in August 2013 for the election of new directors to the board of DFCSS. Several members were unsuccessful in their election and these members should be now be putting their names forward.

If DFCSS is disbanded what do you suggest that is done with the near 20% shareholding in Dundee Football Club.

I enclose a copy of the rules of DFCSS and I suggest that you pay particular attention to Rule 106 under the heading "Dissolution" http://www.dee4life.com/files/1405089399RulesforDundeeFCSupportersSocietyLimitedamended18thDecember2010.pdf

Thanks Islay for the info about Dissolution. Looks like any money left would not go to DFC. That seems a bit harsh, but understandable. I suppose the obvious thing to do would be to first pass over all cash to DFC first, making sure that there was enough left to square the books in winding up DFCSS.

Would rather they continued, but chose a role within the DFC supporting community.

BCram.

That is the problem with using the Supporters Direct constitution which is a "one size fits all" and it is not fit for purpose as far DFCSS is concerned.

The Supporters Direct constitution was drawn up by the Co-operative Group in Manchester which pretty much says it all.

Like you I would prefer that DFCSS continued and raised funds which would then be handed over to the club for specific agreed projects.

If people thought they weren't good enough the first time round why now.

Personally I know of people who failed to be elected that were 100% more qualified to help than those elected but hey ho. That's the voting system.

Derry Drummer.

There is nothing to stop these people putting themselves forward for election to the current board of DFCSS which according to their rules can have up to 11 directors. ( See rules 56 and 57).
