We had 6,100 for the St Johnstone game and 4,700 for ICT. Maybe a lot of folk were scunnered with the Dunfermline result.

You're quoting the total crowds for those games Cobra.

St J might not have a huge travelling support but I'm sure they brought a lot more than ICT did.

Fair point OCDee.

If I remember right St Johnstone had 900 fans which means 5200 Dees.

No idea how many ICT brought. If it was 200 then that would mean around 4500 Dees.

5906 Dees v Hearts (first game at Dens always pulls in a bigger home crowd but that was still somewhere between 700 and 1000 home fans down on the first home game against Killie at Dens the season before)

5221 Dees v St Johnstone

4500 Dees (approx) v Inverness (500 & 800 down on the same fixture last season)

Inverness will always be one of the lowest attended fixtures of the season at Dens as they aren't a pull to the casual punter but that's 1400 Dees that bothered with the Hearts game a few weeks earlier that were missing yesterday on a mild dry Saturday afternoon in August.

Quite grim to be honest after last season's encouraging home attendances but at least the balance sheet has improved :(

4500 Dees turned up to watch a really unappealing game against ICT a few days after our worst result since NYD. I don't think it's all that surprising.

Archie Knox moaned about fluctuating crowds in the 80s. I think Shankly did as well in the 60s and it happened again in the 70s so it's really nothing new. We've got a fantastic support but we will have relatively low attendances for certain games.

Looking at attendances so far this season, we have the fifth highest average in the league and that's before Celtic, United and Aberdeen have come.

Why are the beasters appearing above Aberdeen in that table?
