Carreiro and Curran ran the show tonight. Horrendous start by the Dee, Kane should have had a five-minute hat trick but we could have won it in the end.

Skelly took his goals well too. Think he's scored all of our goals in the Dev Lg this season.

Unfortunately, Dylan picked up a nasty knock and had to be carried off.

FFS! Can we not get through any ninety minutes of football without picking up an injury? :(

Yeah, both played centre mid. Carreiro was the more direct of the two but you could see the class of Curran.

Saints had a really strong team out for a 20s game Summer signings Brad McKay, and Liam Craig plus Simon Lappin and Chris Kane who've both got a fair bit of first team experience and new loan signing from Celtic Darnell Fisher all played and their experience showed early on - Kane scored twice and missed another good chance and Gourlay made a save from point blank range - boy he denied was four yards out.

The Dens kids fought their way back into it before half time without ever looking like scoring but after the break they were simply tremendous - the speed with which they passed the ball and the workrate on display were as good as I've ever seen from a Dundee youth side, Skelly took both goals well and they could have had more - it was a nasty tackle on Dylan that led to him being carried off.

Thanks again mate. Good to hear that two of the "imported" development boys are showing some promise. Being in and around the match day squad will hopefully also help them gain some confidence. Would expect maybe one of the three (curran, carrerio or Calvin C) to go out on loan due to limited first team opportunities for them all.

Again thank you also Davie. It's quite refreshing to hear updates and reports from the development team. Was hoping they were going to be playing at gayfield again this year so I could get down to have a look but obviously links park with its new surface was the better choice. Will try to get to a game soon.
